Notes

> By Jeeves was the opening production at the Stephen Joseph Theatre; Scarborough's former Odeon cinema converted into a state of the art theatre.
> The musical was a heavily revised version of the Ayckbourn and Lloyd Webber musical
Jeeves, which had flopped in the West End in 1975. This production was considerably more successful having a sell-out run in Scarborough before transferring to the West End and then embarking on a UK tour. It later transferred to Broadway. The revision was that extensive, By Jeeves was considered a new play rather than just a revised revival.
> A live recording of the show was done on site and made available to buy in CD from the theatre shop during the run; it was believed to be one of the quickest turn-arounds from recording to mastering to CD to sales at the time.
